Trees can be a beautiful and beneficial part of any property, but if they are sick they will become a hazard. Consulting with an arborist will help you figure out if the tree can be recovered with treatment or if you need to invest in tree removal. This video shows how to remove a tree from a property to keep you and your loved ones safe.
The biggest determining factor in whether a tree stays or is removed is if there is a vulnerable target beneath the tree if branches fall off or if the tree trunk fails altogether. The tree’s structure is evaluated and the arborists look for any defects or signs of illness.
The tree in the video is old and it’s decaying significantly, so it needs to be removed. A crane is used to lift the tree away and set it down safely. First, an arborist goes into the tree and cuts off branches with a chainsaw. The branch the chainsaw tech is working on is connected to a crane. As soon as the branch is free the crane carries it and gently sets it down.
They work branch by branch and are careful to avoid electrical wiring. Another arborist on the ground works to cut the large sections of the tree down to size even more. Then the pieces are sent through a wood chipper and turned into sawdust.
